Many of our customers have requested another cooking course that includes dishes without gluten. We’re constantly trying to increase the variety of dishes for coeliacs at Ma Khin Café as we find more and more people have this limitation in their diets.ASian food offers many alternatives to gluten, with flours made from pulses and rice employed to make pastas and as thickeners. Soy sauce contains gluten but gluten-f free tamari is now readily available as an alternative. Our aim is to be a restaurant where allergies and dietary restrictions are not an impediment to enjoying a good meal, and this course demonstrates our commitment to this ideal.
In this course, Steve Anderson will share with the participants, light and tasty recipes perfectly adapted to this particularly hot end of summer. Our quinoa salad was one of the greta hits at Ma Khin Café when we opened in 2014. Packed with healthy ingredients, broccoli, mixed seeds, sesame and salmon, it’s a meal in itself. you’ll laso learn to make grilled gem lettuce with marinated beef and nuoc Cham sauce, another example of the decolonial food that we promote in Ma Khin Café: Asian recipes with local ingredients. Steve will also be showing you how to make Cantonese style steamed fish, an example of the simplicity of the food from this region of China, perfectly adapted to western tastes and easily made at home.
The course is followed by a full lunch with drinks included in the price. Book now.
