Oberta, which will take place in Valencia from November 21 to December 1.
It will do it with two exclusive experiences with very limited places, which will include a showcooking, followed by the special menu that the restaurant has designed for its tenth anniversary. The experiences are priced at 49 € (drinks not included) and include the culinary demonstration by Steve Anderson -head and soul of Ma Khin-, as well as the tasting menu itself.
SHOWCOOKING KHAO SWE + TASTING MENU
The first experience that Ma Khin will offer within the Cuina Oberta program will take place on Thursday, November 21, at 7 pm, and will consist of a showcooking to learn how to prepare khao swe, a classic dish, both in Burmese and Thai cuisine, which Ma Khin reinterprets, incorporating local products such as Mediterranean fish or “cacau del collaret”.
In addition to being a house classic, this recipe is a clear representation of the essence of Ma Khin, as it shows that there are no frontiers in the kitchen, being a typical preparation of two different cuisines such as Burmese and Thai. The final touch is provided by balachuang, a condiment that mixes different ingredients such as dried shrimp, grated ginger, chili powder, turmeric or fermented shrimp paste.
SHOWCOOKING KIMCHI + TASTING MENU
On Thursday, November 28, also at 7 pm, will take place the second showcooking, in which attendees will be introduced to the world of fermented foods, learning how to prepare their own kimchi.
At Ma Khin they have their own reinterpretation of this emblematic Korean recipe, which they adapt so that it is also suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs, as they prepare it using gluten-free soybeans. In addition, despite being a formula from a very distant gastronomy, Ma Khin makes it from Chinese cabbage grown in Perelló, always betting on local and km0 products.
After the showcooking, attendees will also be able to enjoy carrots with kimchi and cured bonito, one of the emblematic dishes of the Tasting Menu that the restaurant has designed to celebrate its tenth anniversary.
Of course, both experiences are suitable for celiacs. At Ma Khin we always try to adapt our menus so that everyone can enjoy them without worries. Both showcookings can be booked now through our website: get ready to discover the culture of Ma Khin, that one that starts from the love and respect for the local product, to adopt and transform dishes from other corners of the world.
